Wings Over South Texas -- Blue Angels

Blue Angels is the US Navy's elite flight demonstration team. Along with US Air Force's Thunderbirds, they are truly the best in the world!

The show started with an impressive "Jet Assisted Take Off" by a C-130 cargo plane. I have watched it several times on movies. But you have to be there to experience the vast power of a sudden burst of those jet engines.

Then, blue angel pilots started their high performance FA-18 jets (Along with F-14, they are the major fighter jets used on US air craft carriers) and the six of them took off in a row. Again, you have to be there to experience the power of six supersonic jets taking off together!

Six blue angel jets performed dazzling close formations and solo flights. The show is absolutely breath taking. Their formation is incredibly tight and they fly just above your head as if they were one ...

My pictures can not nearly capture all the excitement. Although I have seen pictures and even IMax films about Blue Angel performing, they are not even comparable to watching them in person!

As you can imagine, it is hard to capture those high speed motions on a still camera. All the excitement on the air field makes it even harder to stay focused. So, some pictures might appear blurry, bear with me! :)
